John Tyler
Principal
John Tyler began his teaching journey in 2004 with the North Vancouver School District where he held various teaching positions and served as an Athletic Director and eventually Vice Principal. He held administrative roles at a number of B.C. schools and has also served students as Principal of École Morinville Public School. John moved to Alberta in 2019 to take on the position of Director, Programming Excellence for Sturgeon Public Schools. He led district-wide professional learning and worked directly with school boards, while forming partnerships with Elders and Knowledge Keepers on Indigenous education within the public school system. Following his stop at Sturgeon Public Schools, Mr. Tyler moved back to B.C. where he has been the principal at a secondary (Grade 7-12) school in Kamloops.
John has a Bachelor of Arts and Education degrees from the University of British Columbia as well as a Master’s of Education: Administration and Leadership, also from UBC.
